Our point of origin dates back to the early days of the showa period. In 1938, our company was established as Kansai Felt Shokai by three founder members. Of these founder members one was, Etsuo Eguchi, who was appointed president, a position has held form the formation of the company up to the present day. However, this was an inauspicious time to start a new company as Japan was headed toward world war ii in 1941.
In the immediate post-war period, the head office building and factory in the scorched town of Osaka had been reduced to rubble. Fortunately, Kansai Felt was able to be revitalised and made a new start as a felts trading company.kansai felts made agreements for agency with a wide range of makers and expanded the business by centrally processing and wholesale trading as fast as conditions would allow.
By the middle of the 1960s, we began to create our current prototypes of floor covering division and automotive division at enterprise level. As a company, we carried on our expansion through various business sectors.
In the 1970s, we started trading with north america and south-east asian markets.we made agreements for sole agency with an american biggest floor covering tools & accessory maker, Roberts consolidated industries U.S.A. and a european leading felt maker, BWF Offermann, Shmid & Co. Kg.
The aim of the first president, Etsuo Eguchi was "to expand the business nationwide". As if responding to his thoughts, our company the increased number of branches internally in japan, and developed business divisions from exporting and importing to manufacturing, selling, and constructing.
Moreover, Kansai Felt took on the challenge of "overseas expansion" led by our second president, Tsuneo Eguchi.
When domestic electronics makers expanded their own businesses overseas, we helped them out with parts supply as our main objective. Taking a cue from setting up a subsidiary in Singapore in 1978, and a subsidiary in Thailand in 1988, for almost 30 years after that, we set up total 7 international subsidiaries.
Our company's overall cooperation strategy creates synergy between our subsidiaries and our head office. In 2011, our automotive division also started to expand overseas. We are learning through trial and error and will be continually challenging overseas to increase its expansion.
A succession of new businesses were set up, and expansion continued apace. In 1978, we started up an environmental division. through expanding the sales of our filter bag product made with highly-functional felts from BWF, we contributed to global efforts to maintaining and improving air quality.
In 2004, originating from our floor covering division, an floor covering installation business was started up. We have been making steady progress in becoming one of the leading companies for floor covering materials.
It over 70 years since Kansai Felt was first established in 1938. The first president Etsuo Eguchi made the foundation of the company, and further, the second president Tsuneo Eguchi ensured his principles are carried on, our business is continually expanded, and laid out according to our framework. Next Generation, Ken Eguchi and Yoshitaka Eguchi keep the company philosophy to achieve an 100 years-company while we unite the organization, act according to circumstances for demands in the time, and keep trial & error.
Our stable management, which has not changed since the institution's formation and our belief【 three i 】as specialized trading company will be always be our principles for Kansai Felt moving forward into the future.
