Initiatives For SDGs
Vision for a Sustainable Future
Adopted by the United Nations in 2015, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of global goals that aim to realize a better society in which nobody is left behind. They consist of 17 goals and 169 targets to be achieved by 2030.
Main Initiatives
We are committed to implementing the principles of SDGs through our business and corporate activities. We're working to enhance our company’s value and realize a sustainable society by contributing to the resolution of social issues pursued by the international community.
Sales of furniture linoleum
Our furniture linoleum is made from safe, all-natural, 100% plant-derived materials with antibacterial and antiviral properties. Furthermore, linoleum manufacturing reduces CO2 emissions in comparison to melamine.
Sales of bulletin boards
We use all-natural 100% plant-derived materials with antibacterial and antiviral properties, so they’re safe to use. Our bulletin-board manufacturing process reduces CO2 emissions in comparison to boards with chemical surfaces.
Sales of wool felt
Wool is a 100% natural material. It’s a product of a biological life-cycle that's created by nature, and returned to nature.
Kiesel solvent-free adhesives
Products meet EC1, Germany’s highest safety standard for environmental and health requirements. These naturally derived adhesives are gentle to people and the environment.
Sales of underlays made from reused clothing
Kansai needle felt is a product made from recycled fabrics that are sourced from pre-owned clothing, which reduces waste and harm to the environment.
Donations of felt to schools and aged-care facilities
We promote our SDG initiatives through the donation of scrap felt offcuts to infant schools and assisted living facilities for elderly people.
Other Initiatives
-
Contributing to renewable biomass power generation with filter bags
We contribute to the creation of renewable energy through the provision of filter bags used in biomass power plants. Biomass power generation uses biological resources derived from plants and animals to generate eco-friendly electricity.
-
Promoting a paperless workplace
Paper is made from wood. Use of paper means logging, and excessive logging leads to deforestation. Forests are vital natural resources that absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. By going paperless, we can help reduce deforestation and protect the environment.
-
Transitioning to LED lighting
We are taking measures to reduce the amount of energy we consume and our impact on the environment by switching to efficient LED lighting.
-
Adopting eco-friendly cars as company vehicles
By transitioning to eco-friendly vehicles, we are contributing to a reduction in gasoline consumption and CO2 emissions.
-
LIMEX business cards
We use business cards made of an eco-friendly material derived from limestone. The manufacture of LIMEX cards requires 10 liters less water per 100 cards than traditional wood-pulp business cards.

Regular medical checkups, no smoking indoors, and separate smoking areas
We provide staff with access to regular medical checkups to ensure that each and every employee enjoys work in good health. To prevent passive smoking, we prohibit smoking indoors and have separate areas for smoking. Our company aims to continually improve the excellence of our health management.
